A place to call my own.

Well big news! I bought a house!

I am so in love with it. It has 2 bedrooms, a bright sunroom- which is going to be my office, a dining room and best of all a gorgeous kitchen which has been reno'ed and is stunning. I have tons of counter space, a bright window, a dishwasher( all white appliances) all white cupboards. The counter is nice and overlaps into the dining room which has a cut out and I can pull a couple of stools up to the counter if i choose. The bathroom is ok- nothing to write home about- a nice deep tub though. Might need a nice pedestal sink at some point and new flooring more to my taste- but nothing that can't wait.

The whole upstairs is hardwood floors which I love and totally wanted in a house. The basement is insulated and partially finished ( like I care- It's only me and it seems like TONS of space to me) I have a cute little yard with a nice flower garden, a detached single garage with an opener. A slate patio and the whole yard is nicely tree'ed. A little birdee hinted that I may be getting a patio set for my housewarming gift( Coworkers and some of my bestest friends I have ever had the pleasure of knowing)

Banks are insane in what they will pre approve you for I must say. Thankfully I didn't need to go as high as they would have given me ( like by a good 50 000 +) I am a little scared at my payments, along with the maintenance of the house. I love the area I bought in. I met some of my neighbours already- I took one of my friends/co workers to the house to snoop around( I don't take possession for another couple of weeks) and one neighbour across the street waved from her house and gave me the thumbs up lol. The other had her cat on a leash and I stopped to pet him. My tabby will be sure to get to know him I think. Plus I am close to my older sister so I can take her puppy when I want( who needs a dog when you have a time share dog who adores me) My other sister has the husband - so who needs a man around the house when I can borrow one. Best of both worlds.

I am so excited( and scared) but I figure I am making decent money- have a full time job with overtime( I hope to pick up some extra shifts to be able to buy some stuff for the house and ease the payments I will have to make) I better buy now before I can't afford to buy here. The market is nuts. I made like 6 offers that were rejected before this. I am so glad in a way that I got this one. It has the perfect layout- not to big not too small( 900 sq feet) actually on the very same street as 3 of the other offers. I am close enough to the north end but not actually having to live there (sometimes scary enough working there without having to live in it.) But the area is like maybe 10 minutes away and is close enough that my coworkers and I plan to come to my place for lunch on a regular basis. Plus the area isn't as suburban as many here. A little funky and fun.
