Definately Not the Opera....

Okay tonight I turned on Bravo and happened across "Jerry Springer - The Opera". At first I wasn't sure of what exactly I was seeing - thought maybe someone had slipped some LSD in my diet pepsi. Yes a musical version of the Jerry Springer show....I didn't get much of a chance to see the whole thing , since I was heading out to scrapbook at Chantal's- But what I saw was hmmm interesting....

Songs like " Chick with a Dick", Momma Give Me Smack on the A-hole"and "Talk to the Hand" all done in big full musical voices and songs, and like opera light was just surreal. There is something that seems so wrong about hearing "what the fuck" in an operatic type voice. Lots of Swearing.... Stunning actually and I LOVE swearing. Jesus in a diaper, KKK members tapdancing, trailer trash, and transvestites singing/swearing in a type of way that seems more cultured just was so freaky.

Apparently there have been lots of protests against the show -Jesus and Satan get into a fight on the show and Jesus is a character who appears in a diaper and sings a song about how he actually is a bit gay. Says " Talk to the Stigmata" stuff like that.

From what I hear it is coming to Broadway and Kevin Kline or Harvey Keitel are being touted as possible Jerry Springer's for that

What a messed up show-I will never be quite the same.
